Michael Oviedo

Since 1997, Michael Oviedo has worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer for a wide range of clients including celebrities, VIPS, and athletes. In 2000, he travelled around the United States as a master instructor for Apex Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness. Furthermore during his time with Apex Fitness he advised the Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors on performance nutrition and supplementation. He also consulted for the bodybugg® armband on the Biggest Loser® television show in 2006-07.

In 2012, he started his own training company utilizing the Fusionetics platform to enhance his existing clients’ programs which included Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Grey, Clark Gregg, Tobey Maguire and top executives. In 2014, he was given the opportunity to work with Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers. During the 2015/16 NBA season, he became his exclusive practitioner, traveling with him on his farewell tour.

In his current role as a movement and soft tissue practitioner, Michael utilizes Movement Edge training and the Fusionetics platform to assess and train clients at the Sports Performance Center at the STAR in Frisco, Texas. He has a passion for staying current in manual therapy and the fitness industry; and is always looking for ways to improve his work and the lives of his clients.

Tony Ambler-Wright

Tony Ambler-Wright has been a Senior Practitioner for Fusionetics and Movement Edge since 2012. He holds a Master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania (Cal U) in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management with an emphasis in Fitness and Wellness. A Licensed Massage Therapist, Tony is also credentialed as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Tony is fortunate to be able to share his passion for and knowledge about health and fitness, sports performance, and corrective exercise training with an array of aspiring and current fitness and sports medicine professionals. He is a Master Instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine, national lecturer, and adjunct faculty member in exercise science programs at both the university and community college levels.

Training professionally for over seventeen years, Tony also has the opportunity to practice what he teaches. While he spent a majority of his career assisting entry-level clients improve their health, fitness, and quality of life, in his role with Fusionetics and Movement Edge he has spent the last four years working with facilities, elite athletes, and sports teams – from high-school and collegiate to the Major League, Professional, and Olympic ranks – designing and implementing manual therapy, corrective exercise, athletic reconditioning, and performance training programs.

Wally Blase

He is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and is a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

Serving on the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association (NBATA) Executive committee for 10 of his 15 years, Blase also completed a two-year term as the Chairman of the organization. As Chairman, Blase represented the NBATA and its members as a liaison to the league office, as well as to NBA Physicians Association. Additional responsibilities included organizing the group’s annual meeting, educational agenda and league business meeting, and oversight of the organization’s business affairs and their charity and scholarship foundations. The Foundations have donated tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships, and hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity, including over $25,000 to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In 2005, the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association (SEATA) named Blase the Professional Athletic Trainer of the Year.  He was also awarded the first, “Ed Lacerte service award” for his years of hard work and dedication to the NBATA.

A native of Niles, Illinois, Blase has done several internships for the athletic training department of the NFL’s Chicago Bears (the summers of 1994, ’96 and ’98). He also spent time as the head athletic trainer with the Cincinnati Rockers arena football team (1993).

Blase spent three seasons as a student athletic trainer at Winona State University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s of Science degree (B.S.) in sports medicine. He also earned his Master’s of Science (M.S.) in sports psychology from Syracuse University while serving two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

Theresa Elizabeth Swanson

MEd, ATC, CES
Theresa is an Athletic Trainer who has been working professionally for the past 8 years with a diversity of sports. She is a California native. She came to the east coast to attend college where she also met her husband, Mark Swanson.

Since moving to Georgia, Theresa has been assisting Fusionetics/Movement Edge the past 2 years with local outreach. Prior to that, she has 2 years experience working with local high school athletes and 4 years Division-1 football and basketball.

Alan Russell

MS, ATC, PES, CES
Supporting the Fusionetics partnership with BaylorScott & White Health, Russell coordinates community care efforts to make “North Texas the safest place in the country to play sports” from the Sport Performance Center at the STAR (Frisco, TX).

His previous posts include 10 years with the Anaheim Angels, 15 years with National Academy of Sports Medicine, and four years at Fusionetics.

He is a Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC), Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM). He resides in Frisco, TX with his wife and two children.
